Sailing vacation on Soren Larsen
I got a newsletter the other day from the sailing ship Soren Larsen. I've been looking around at tall ships to take a trip on and the Soren Larsen seemed like one of the best. The people in the office were very nice and sent me a bunch of information.
The Soren Larsen is a 150 foot wooden tall ship based out of Auckland, NZ. They sail around the South Pacific every year - in a big loop starting from Auckland out to Easter Island and back through Tahiti, French Polynesia, etc.. The entire trip takes about 9 months. No way I could take that much time off from work, but I'm hoping to join the ship for one of the legs. The leg from Tahiti to Cook Islands looks really nice. I'm dreading the plane flight though. I flew to Australia last year and it was very long and tiring.
If anyone has any experience with the Soren Larsen (or any other tall ship), I'd love to hear some recommendations.
